Hard to believe this is our final weekend together. Please take time to reflect on the weekend and the class as a whole. Your reflections are important!
Be sure to tie some of your thoughts to the standards. Thanks to all of you for a great class!

I was very happy to finish this class. It was my last one. I really enjoy technology and use it very day in class with my sixth grades. We create imovies for book reports, garage band to edit songs(for book report), and we are entering the podcast business as well. I did use the M&M's excel activity to meet one of our technology standards.
This class has proven to be beneficial. I was unaware of the various technology options that can be utilized in school districts. At times the information was difficult to absorb, but after some practice I feel that I am prepared to incorporate some of the new material in to my classroom. These technologies promote student learning and professional growth (standard 2). Some of the new material (such as blogs) will provide an opportunity for more/better communication with the community (standard 4).
I have learned so much from this class! I came in not really knowing much about technology, and was a little nervous about how I would do. Everything that was presented was taught at a rate that I could understand and help was always available. This made learning so much easier!! I really enjoyed the podcast and making the imovie. Learning Excel was something that I have wanted to do, but never took the time. I really enjoyed this class and will take a lot with me :)
I think this class has been very helpful in many different ways. As future educational leaders, it will be critical for principals to be comfortable using technology to model for teachers and promote its use in school. I also think many of the technologies can be very useful communication tools to use with parents, teachers, and students. I'm excited to see if people respond to my blog and what kind of feedback I get back. I have personally found so many useful resources on the web, but I think we could use technology even more to collaborate and share as educators.
I know there are some traditional educational strategies and resources that are still very important, but if we really want to capture the attention and imagination of students, we must move toward integrating technology and using it whenever possible, and continually exploring & discovering new ways to use it.
Wow! I can't believe I have completed my last class for the EDL program! At first, I was intimidated by the new technology introduced in this class, but now that I have "played" with it, I do feel more comfortable, and i have more faith in my abilities. I will definitely attempt a podcast in my class. My kids will so love it, and will learn technology and content using this tool. I hope to keep my wiki and blog pages up and running and use them as a tool for communication and information sharing. (standard 4). This class would have been very useful earlier on in the program, but I do like the fact that I am ready to be an administrator and up to date with what is the newest in technology.
This class has been beneficial in several areas. The blogger website will become a factor in my class for both parents and students. As a language arts teacher who uses novels and book clubs, the blogger website can be a central location for students to post and parents to see "real time" work. This activity/tool can be related to standard 4.
It was a very productive weekend for me. I didnt think I would ever get all the assignments finished and compiled. Having Saturday afternoon to work was wonderful. It was nice to see everyone collaborate and use their skills. We obviously followed standard 3 by using the spreadsheets to organize data. More specifically using the IIRC website to download data, organize with office tools and summarize by making predictions. A very good weekend!
I enjoyed and will use some of the things I learned in this class. I also think that the tutorial programs that were added to our Western Online would have been a good element for this class if it were assigned at the beginning and took the place of another assignement. I also think it would have been helpful for us all to learn on the same operating system. I have used and will continue to use MovieMaker and conditioning formatting! Sara
This was an awesome class for many reasons. First of all, it was my last class! I wish I would have had this class initially because it certainly would have helped with other classes along the way. Yesterday, going through the Excel refresher was helpful and will prove to be beneficial in the future dealing with entering test scores and such. The weekend seemed to encompass all of the standards. We dealt with subjects from ethics to professional growth and everything in between. The extra time given to work and collaborate with other students was very helpful. All the presentations gave us a nice variety of techniques we can use in our classrooms and with our staff when we take on administrative positions in the future!
I thought this class was great. The first day I was overwhelmed and nervous thinking "what in the world am I going to do?" I went from being terrified of technology to now excited about the things I have learned and will definately continue to use. I am thankful for the class and really thankful to have Danielle be the professor. Without her flexibility, patience and fun personality it would have been a whole different ballgame! Thanks for a great ending to my program.
I can't believe we are done. It seemed like we had tons of time at the start, but it actually went very quickly. I started out knowing virtually nothing compared to what I am taking away. I am grateful for Danielle's patience for those of us who are "old timers" and still have paper files to back up our computer files! My grown up kids were impressed that I could make a movie!!! (They all had to sit through it several times until completion.)
Thank you Danielle, I will use a lot of what I learned and definitely appreciate what my students go through in their computer technology classes.
